Personality & Traits
| General Overview | Lucas wants to prove himself but on his own terms. He ppreciates the team concept but not if it brings his personal integrity into question, never one to just do what everyone else is doing. He's naturally skeptical but tries to cover his anxiety with jokes and sarcasm. But in the end Lucas is there, ready to do whatever it takes for the right things to happen. | |
| Strengths & Weaknesses | Lucas is proficient in numerous weapons both personal and vehicle based. His marksmanship and strategic mind can arouse issues with his fellow crew members as he's often had to go it alone. Issues with trusting others have lingered in his mind since birth. It's hard for him to believe others as even growing up his friends would say one thing and do another. In the Academy it was the same, other cadets were very friendly and complimentary until he could no long be of any advantage. |
|
| Ambitions | Lucas wants everyone to get home alive. Anything else is considered icing on the cake. A training exercise during his Academy time that resulted in the loss of a Cadet he blames solely on himself despite having been cleared of any liability. Lucas wants to be part of something, to be valued as he's never really felt relevant. | |
| Hobbies & Interests | Hunting Fishing Camping Guinea Pigs |
| Personal History | Lucas was born June 16th to John and Emily Scott. His father, a fighter pilot aboard the USS Medusa, was lost early in his life during the ship's many combat missions. His mother, who had never wanted part of Officer's Wife, kept her son home on Earth with her sharing a spacious cabin with her brother along the river between Ohio and West Virginia. The passing of Luke's father took the spirit out of his mother leading to her passing two years later. It was during this time that "Uncle Jay", as Luke had always called him, taught him as much as possible about survival and relying on one's self. It was also his Uncle that pushed Lucas to study hard and pursue a career in Fleet, despite how the family had seemingly fallen apart because of it. Lucas had only been 9 when news of his father's KIA had come to the family and changed his reality forever. In the Academy he'd realize the benefits of his Uncle's "old-school" knowldge, already experienced with simple weapons that were proven in the woods along the Ohio river. Ways to find clean water, which berries were safe to eat and the multitude of "old school" knowledge nuggets that would separate himself from the other cadets in his class. But always Uncle Jerry would caution him against trusting others too much, a mistake he always blamed his sister for making. Starfleet Academy went faster than Lucas had ever envisioned and finding himself assigned to a ship and responsible for the safety of other lives was a startling contrast to his life in the woods. Now things mattered, Now there was no excuse. |
