Fractured Accord
Epsilon Fleet Command has given the USS Arawyn her first true test: a convoy escort into the disputed Tavrik system. On the surface, the assignment was routine — safeguard three science and terraforming vessels on their journey to Tavrik III and provide protection while critical upgrades are made planetside.
But the Tavrik region is anything but routine. Rival factions stake claims, colonists clash over Federation presence, and the balance between diplomacy and disaster hangs by a thread.
Now fully underway, Fractured Accord follows the Arawyn into contested space. What began as a ceremonial launch has become a race against chaos — sabotage, nanotechnology, and militant interference have turned a convoy into a crisis. Trust is fragile, tensions are high, and the price of failure could ignite more than one frontier.
Mission Overview
Objective: Escort and safeguard a convoy of science and terraforming vessels bound for Tavrik III, while maintaining Federation interests and preventing escalation between local factions.
Convoy Vessels
- USS Arawyn – Sovereign-class starship, flagship of the convoy.
- USS Curie – Nova-class science vessel (modernized variant), agile and equipped for close support and survey operations. Captain Mikhail Dobrev
- USS Newton – Oberth-class descendant, dedicated science platform with advanced sensor suites. Captain Aditi Rao
- USS Ardent – Olympic-class variant, reconfigured for terraforming support; largest and slowest ship in the formation, carrying critical equipment. Captain Ellie Garnett
Key Locations & Factions
- Tavrik System – Marginally habitable Tavrik III under Federation terraforming oversight; strategic hub of sarium krellide resources.
- Vethari Combine – Mercantile power claiming historic rights, employing bribery and privateers to advance their cause.
- Kaldari Union – Militaristic coalition of fringe colonies, arming themselves against perceived Federation encroachment.
Mission Themes
- Diplomacy vs. conflict — maintaining peace in contested space.
- Colonial tension — Federation interests vs. independence movements.
- Resource struggle — control of sarium krellide deposits.
- Trust under pressure — cooperation within the convoy and beyond.
Current Plot Status
- Convoy Departure: The Arawyn and her convoy launched from Starbase 369 for Tavrik III.
- Sabotage Discovered: A navigation buoy detonated en route, crippling the Newton and revealing deliberate tampering.
- Nanobot Infestation: Invasive nanotechnology was detected aboard the Newton. Despite containment efforts, the bots migrated to the warp core.
- Uncontrolled Warp Event: The Newton was pulled into a spontaneous warp surge, separating from the convoy.
- Verathi Involvement Confirmed: Tactical analysis traced the buoy sabotage to Verathi assets operating under falsified Kaldari transponders, escalating the incident beyond simple piracy.
- Pursuit & Recovery: Contact was re-established near Tavrik III. The Arawyn moved to secure the Newton’s survivors and contain contamination risks.
- Surface Complications: Away teams report unstable terraforming effects, hostile Kaldari activity, and intermittent comms. The planetary situation remains fluid and dangerous.
- Now: The Arawyn maintains orbital overwatch, coordinating rescue, medical quarantine, and planetary security while investigating the Verathi footprint across the sector.
