Mission: The Displaced
Posted on 29 Dec 2025 @ 11:25pm by Lieutenant Commander Adrian Sorvak & Lieutenant Lelina Evans
=/\= Shuttle Golau =/\=
As the rift opened, the little one slowly came to a halt.
Vel's attention was momentarily occupied with setting up the shields according to the data sent by the Arawyn, and when she lifted her head back, the lifeform had disappeared from her viewscreen.
She quickly moved to a side console to try and trace it.
It took her a few seconds to find it again.
It was heading straight for the rift.

Mission: The Displaced
Posted on 29 Dec 2025 @ 1:04pm by Lieutenant Commander Adrian Sorvak
=/\= Bridge =/\=
The turbolift opened and Sorvak stepped out. He paused a moment to consider the rift projected on the viewscreen. Then, nodding to the officer who had been manning the Science Station, he took his place.
All attention on the bridge was focused on the opening rift on the viewscreen. "Wounds in the sky", the Eirians had called it, and it did look like a wound in space. Colored tendrils were coming out of an open maw.
Sorvak could also see the Eirian ship, holding position in front of the rift. A smaller viewscreen on his console followed…

Mission: The Displaced

///Engineering///
While Lelina was in the bridge, Ryan sat in engineering, pushing away the fact that his entire life had just unraveled, thanks to his last 'therapy' session. He couldn't afford to focus on that, though. Right now he had a friend who was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Ryan distinctly remembered an old ancient game...what was it called? He remembered it had a small creature who would follow on a set path, gobbling each morsel for points. That's what the creature was doing right now, eating morsel after morsel the shuttle was leaving behind.
It was…

Mission: The Displaced
Posted on 25 Dec 2025 @ 5:00pm by Commander Suzanna Batenburg
///// Bridge ////
Suzanna entered the bridge after she had been released by sickbay. The various reports had started coming in, and she was keeping up with them on her PADD. She was most interested in the debriefing and conclusions from Sorvak. Communication in harmonics, and now there was the request to align the shields to the harmonic wave form, to in phase coherence with the rift. Potential other life-forms in the rift that communicate with harmonics. Then the hungry, lonely young one, as the Eirians had referred to the life form.
Then there were the questions she had about…

Mission: The Displaced
Posted on 23 Dec 2025 @ 11:29pm by Ensign Mira Quinn
=/\= Shuttle Golau =/\=
Almost as soon as her shuttle went into warp, Vel started a sensor sweep.
The Arawyn was still there. Still in one piece.
And so was the Eirian ship.
Another sensor sweep showed her that the lifeform had followed her, and was currently... grazing, for lack of a better word, on the verteron path she had left behind.
So far, so good.
Her communications console beeped quietly and she tapped the controls. She cleared her throat before answering. “Shuttle Golau here. Standing by.”
It was the Captain. “Ensign Zodeil, you are ordered to return to a controlled holding…

///USS Thysia///
(Continued)
The corridor appeared to be empty. Ryan gripped his phase pistol tightly. He could hear the sound of pounding in the distance. “That seal isn’t going to hold for long.”
They soon arrived at a break in the passageway, going to the left and right. “Which way?’” Ryan whispered. “There are escape pods on either side.”
“Let me check out the right,” Mendon said. “Stay here.”
Ryan nodded. “Be careful,” he said, and watched him disappear into the darkness.
“Ryan!” one of the engineers hissed. Ryan turned to the left, and for the first time in his…

“All hands, this is the Captain. Docking complete. Shore leave is authorized for forty-eight hours. Department heads coordinate coverage and readiness reports before departure. You’ve all earned the time," the Captain said over the com.
Commander Boren had remotely decided who would go when, and Ryan’s turn had been selected first. He left the Arawyn, feeling a strange sense of…relief? It was hard to describe what he was feeling. Nor did he know what to do with his free time. While he wasn’t one to indulge in drinking, he…

OOC: Takes place a month before reassignment to the USS Arawyn.

---Counselor's Office----
Ryan entered the counselor's office, on time as scheduled. The counselor in question, Doctor Jenzen Poliski, was an elderly man in his seventies. The counselor had wanted to call him JP. It didn't stick.
"Hello, Ryan," Jenzen greeted. "Come on in. Would you like coffee? Tea?"
"Sure," Ryan said. Truthfully, he didn't want either. But he knew how this worked. Give the counselor what he wanted, and he could leave faster. "Tea would be good."
Jenzen poured a cup, and put the tea in.…
» An Excerpt from My Journal
Posted on 07 Sep 2025 @ 9:21pm by Crewman Clara Barton
I’ve finally gotten back to journaling after embarking on what will probably be the most stupendous experience of my life. The words on this page are for my eyes only, and somehow it centers me to get my thoughts down on paper. And yes, I’m still old school, writing in cursive with pen and ink just as I’ve been doing since childhood. Back in my pre-pubescent days, it was a “Dear Diary” sort of thing jotted down in a little pink book with a lock that anyone could pick with a safety pin. By high school, diaries had graduated to…

=/\= Captain’s Quarters =/\=
The final items in the crate were a set of leather-bound journals filled with unlined linen paper. Three were in various states of use, their corners soft, spines creased, and certain pages dog-eared to mark their importance. All three were full. The fourth was new, its leather unmarred, the pages blank, though she suspected the first entry would be written tonight.
Beside them was a small bundle of pens: black ink rollerballs in her preferred 0.7mm size. Not fancy, but they wrote cleanly, and she liked the way they moved across linen paper. She had once…
