Silent Inheritance

With the Arawyn set to leave the system soon Nick was making his best effort to get ready. Showing up to his assignment with a crew fresh off of shore leave was both a burden and a curse; they'd never be more relaxed and at the same time less prepared for stress and strife. Situations were coming that would be difficult to endure with no clear-cut answers, such was the way of things, and the open nature of his appointments was a anxious relief. There would always be things onboard the ship that he was not party to and his own personal anxiety would always question why he hadn't anticipated such situations. He was already up far too late, reading back through his appointment notes from the day's sessions. The espresso was starting to lose its effect, not strong enough to give a jolt but enough strength to keep the machine motivated,
"Computer. Compile the next day's appointments."
[No Appointments scheduled]
Miller could had almost laughed, it had been a terribly chaotic week getting settled so to find his book was open gave him a lengthy leash. He'd be able to interact with a number of the crew and possibly be the reminder that counsel was a stronger resource than appreciated. But for the time being his time was his own and the concept was a bit staggering, he'd been so occupied with getting settled that his own concerns had been easily overlooked.
"Well shit. I have nothing to do tomorrow"
The statement was a total lie. Nick would find something that needed attention, there was always something aside from the focus that was always neglected for the save of the time on the clock. His naturally anxious nature would instantly lock on to some detail that his mind felt neglected, the only barrier between that and being capable was separating himself from the concerns of his patients. They needed help, that was far more vital than anything.
With the Arawyn still getting comfortable Miller was feeling more nervous than he felt he should but tried to remind himself that there would come a time and place where doing the best work he could would matter. It might even keep someone alive.
