"Well..... it's not just all on you..." Miller replied. "You're not the only officer responsible for the Arawyn." He made a few notes on the security officer's notable guilt at recent events. "We're all part of a team here. A family really. It's a healthy response to feel like you could have done more, much harder to admit that you've done all you could." With the ship recently docked a vast number of officers had scheduled appointments and while encouraged that aid was being rendered Miller was looking forward to a lighter appointment schedule for at least the next few days. Arawyn sill required a slew of repairs and other demands on her crew,

"I know it's hard to give yourself the luxury of rest. Believe me. There's always something more you feel like you should have done. The body is exhausted, the mind is nowhere near ready to rest." He paused to take a sip of the coffee on his desk, a new blend he'd been meaning to try for some time. It was a bit bitter for his liking but was doing enough to keep the lights on upstairs. "But you have to remember.... we didn't get this far by relying on any specific person."

"And I'll expect to see you again soon, Ensign." He said it a bit sarcastically but injecting a bit of humor at the end of a session had done unanticipated benefit through his experiences.

"Thanks for listening Doc..."

Miller nodded at the reply and smiled, he'd always have an appreciation for Security's unique position within the operations of Starfleet. Someone had to be there to confront threats, risk their lives and continue to try and keep a handle on their sanity. "Thank you Ensign. I have you scheduled for next Thursday... but feel free to catch me any time. Seriously." Nick took just a moment to look Ens Scott in the eye, making sure the point would be made. "I'm here for you. For all of us. And you're not the only officer on this ship that feels like they slipped up. But the only thing we can truly control is not what we did wrong, but what we do to remedy the situation."

"We'll catch up soon. Get yourself some sleep."

As the other officer left the office Nick took a moment to watch him leave. His patient was dealing with responsibilities and circumstances that his own path just couldn't equalize. It did help that he'd been raised in the experience of his CSec father and while that aided him in certain ways there was still more to learn with every interaction. As the crew learned to trust him he could in turn make himself more available. More exposed.

Nick turned to his schedule as the Ensign left. There were a few appointments but nothing that would show signs of a potential problem. Arawyn had taken a few punches and the crew was processing that as best they could While he was worried about Ryan other Counselors were ensuring his friend was taken care of. as much as Miller wanted to be there himself.

"I should actually just sleep...." he muttered to himself. And for once NIck decided to listen to good advice. Arawyn was safely docked, damage was being repaired and for the moment he found himself without some way to progress. There would always be more to accomplish in the morning.

"What do you think Ray?" he asked aloud. Glancing to the bonsai Miller shook his head. "You're right. What kind of therapist talks to a tree...... Let's call it a day shall we?"

Files and reports could wait until the coming duty shift. For now, a nap sounded fantastic.
